Celebrate Veterans Day at special events for veterans, community – University of Alabama News

The University of Alabama is honoring veterans this year with several special events. Here’s what’s happening around campus and in Tuscaloosa.

November 9:

Military Family Appreciation Day

third floor, Houser Hall, noon

Veterans, service members and dependents are invited to visit the Office of Veterans and Military Affairs for an open house. Lunch will be offered to participants. No registration is required.

November 10:

Veterans Faculty and Staff Luncheon

Heritage Room, University of Alabama Student Center, 11 a.m.

Faculty and staff are invited to a luncheon to thank veterans for their service. No registration is required.

November 11th:

Honor those who served

Veterans Memorial Park, 10 a.m.

The Office of Veterans and Military Affairs will participate in the annual Tuscaloosa Community Ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park where Sgt. U.S. Army Maj. Michael A. Grinston will be the keynote speaker. Everyone is welcome to join.

UA-VA Clinic Inauguration

Capital Room, 2 p.m.

The Office of Veterans and Military Affairs will celebrate the grand opening and grand opening of the new Veterans Clinic, an on-campus satellite office for UA faculty, staff, and students.
