Jen Brown named executive director of the Vail Veterans Program

The Vail Veterans Program issued the following press release on Tuesday on the appointment of Jen Brown as the organization’s new executive director after her tenure as general manager of the Beaver Creek Resort Company:

Jen Brown

The Vail Veterans Program is thrilled to introduce Jen Brown as its new Executive Director. Jen is a highly respected community leader in the Vail Valley and has been for over 27 years. She is thoughtful, collaborative and has the ability to navigate complex situations and find innovative solutions. Prior to joining the Vail Veterans Program, Brown worked as general manager of the Beaver Creek Resort Company.

I feel very lucky and honored to join the Vail Veterans Program. Cheryl’s vision and dedication to those who serve our country, their caregivers and their families is humble and inspiring. The experiences shared by the participants create a special bond and our community is very proud to welcome these veterans with varied experiences. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to lead Vail’s veterans program into the future.
– Jen Brown, Executive Director

When Cheryl Jensen founded the Vail Veterans Program in 2004 and invited seven wounded warriors to Vail, she thought it would be a one-time event. Under Jensen’s dedicated leadership over the past 18 years, what began as a single event has blossomed into a wide variety of programs that have served more than 3,300 veterans and their families. Programs range from adventurous to connective, including therapeutic summer and winter recreational programs, caregiver-specific wellness events, and empowerment training. Jen will oversee current programming and implement strategic initiatives based on an unwavering commitment to meeting the changing needs of veterans and their families.

“I am thrilled to welcome Jen Brown to the Vail Veterans Program, I know that with her leadership, her passion for the organization’s mission and her ability to build collaborative partnerships, she will lead the organization in in a way that will continue to help our injured veterans thrive. ”
– Cheryl Jensen, President/Founder of the Vail Veterans Program.

Jensen will continue in her role as the founder of the Vail Veterans Program and will remain connected to the organization.
