Josh Gerasim, VA Medical Center of Vermont Veteran Peer Specialist and Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sports Veterans Program Coordinator, MishaPemble-Belkin, will lead a conversation on veteran reintegration, examining the role that friends, families, and communities can play to support the military. when they return home and provide opportunities for civilians and veterans to engage and ask questions. The conversation will take place on Zoom.

Questions that will be addressed include how communities can help their veterans fight for reintegration, how civilians can separate the Hollywood version of military life from the realities of service to come to a better understanding of the needs of veterans when ‘they go home, the role of “moral injury” in PTSD, and how today’s headlines and the war in Europe affect veterans here at home.

This event is funded by a grant under Libraries Transforming Communities: Focus on Small and Rural Libraries, an initiative of the American Library Association (ALA) in collaboration with the Association for Rural & Small Libraries (ARSL).
