Tristate Veterans Community Alliance Hosts “Operation Deep Dive” on Veteran Suicide
Tristate Veterans Community Alliance (TVCA) is hosting a public meeting to inform community leaders about Operation Deep Dive, a new study examining factors related to suicide and self-harm among veterans.
Led nationwide by America’s Warrior Partnership, researchers from the University of Alabama, and the Bristol Myers-Squibb Foundation, the project’s goal is to guide the development of more effective community programs to help prevent and reduce suicide and self-harm among veterans.
The US Department of Veterans Affairs estimates that 20 veterans die by suicide every day, making it a critical issue that needs to be addressed by every community across the country. Leaders of veterans organizations, law enforcement officers, clinical mental health counselors, crisis line workers, social workers, coroners and medical examiners, as well as d Other local community leaders are invited to attend this meeting for an overview of the study and how they can contribute to its success.
The meeting will be held May 1 from noon to 2 p.m. at United Way, 2400 Reading Road, Cincinnati. Lunch is free.
